What always inspires me to paint, is not just the fun process, but being able to channel my emotions onto canvas. My paintings often have several layers, literally, but also metaphorically. What connects each and every one of the paintings, is that they are made with love, with something or someone in mind.
The paintings you’ll see at the exhibition, are silent melodies merging together, feelings of floating on clouds, or the rhythm of your heartbeat, when you hear the voice of the person you love.
In the past, I tried to project anger or anxiety through art. But whenever I see those pieces of art now, I don’t feel any inner harmony, even if they might be visually appealing. Something was missing - I think along the way I found what it was. Will that resonate with you? I hope so.

About Naomi Meyro
Naomi Meyro (b.1992) is a Jamaican-born artist, with roots in India and Germany, but raised in Northern Finland.
Naomi studied Pedagogy with a minor in Art Education. She has been traveling and living in several different countries around the world; teaching and practicing art, music and yoga. Now she is back living in Helsinki, Finland.
Visually Meyro finds it interesting to study the subtleties of shades, surfaces and patterns. The most important thing for her is to feel some kind of harmony and peace when the work is done. She considers painting a form of meditation, so if the painting leaves her with a restless feeling, she usually paints it all over again.
Currently Naomi is inspired by fantasies, daydreams, the healing power of sound and higher consciousness and astrology.
