Framé 6.-8.7.2020

Hi!

Welcome to my first exhibition of the summer 2020.

Sparkling wine, music & ART.

17-20

About the exhibition:

Framé

Frames, like maps, can be thought as structures of power. Both implement power in the physical reality. Maps are claims for a certain area within the nationalist power-structure. Frames, traditionally used, set the physical boundaries to an artist’s work.

A map is an “agreement,” forced on us externally within the modern, global human condition. The canvas comes to on end on all sides, limiting the artists possibility to pursuit endlessly flowing lines.

The analogue about maps and frames might sound far-fetched per se, but when you view them as socially constructed agreements, the logic surfaces.

Framé is an attempt to question the power of the frame in a series of paintings and release the flow of movement.

I'm fed up with the external limits of borders, frames, old attitudes and claims. I say fuck the frame, come FREEDOM go shame.

I'm a Helsinki based artist, currently working in residency at Punkaharju, eastern-Finland.

Im focusing on visual arts at the moment, especially painting and drawing with mixed techniques.

Lately I've been inspired by the light that emerged out of nowhere, giving my mind some long aspired clarity while breaking the frames.
